Who are we?
Hello and hi and welcome all. There's nothing quite like the pressure of what to write for your about you section, and to be honest, it's almost as daunting as becoming a new mum, or reading up on baby-led weaning. Not quite, but almost.
Let us take this opportunity to explain what “Shmumming” means as you might not be familiar with this invented word. This portmanteau is coined by blending shit and mumming. Now, we're not saying this is an area for shit mums. It describes a feeling, a feeling that we believe every mum has had. That feeling that you could do better while you raise your little humans.
Therefore, we wanted to create a no judgement space, a place of positivity and laughs to let all mums (or dads, or guardians etc.) know that they are not alone. We are going to pool opinions, tips and current events from across the globe because while culture, norms and parenting styles may be different, we can all unite in the confusion of being a parent.

Half Thai Half English Mum with an American accent who went to an international school, a very Thai university and has a UK masters. Speaks English fairly well, Thai less so. First time Mum who spent most of her pregnancy in lock down in Bangkok and enjoying being able to stay at home mum/entrepreneur. Runs an online boutique swimwear brand and once upon a time model. Now she enjoys cheesy fries.

Legal compliance corporate climbing Mum. Spends her life feeling extreme Mum guilt whilst at work and work guilt when finishing early to spend time with her kids - she has since given up feeling guilty and drinks a lot of wine. Loves mentoring and advocating young women in leadership training networks/organisations. After infertility battles with PCOS, Nat is now Mum to two lovely (sometimes awful) kids.

Sydney , Australia based.
From the UK originally, but a total third culture kid, attending school in Kuwait, Thailand and Vietnam. Graduated into global nomad, living and working in Vietnam, Thailand, Russia and Hong Kong before landing in Australia. Now balancing being a mummy to 2 gorgeous daughters, one born in HK and the other in Oz, with being a full-time People person (read, HR). If there's any time left over, you'll find her glued to either a political podcast or the latest trashy reality show.
